Australia Day: happy holiday

January 26th is the day of celebrations across Australian territory. This date was officially proclaimed in 1938, but it wasn't until 1988 that it became such a special national holiday marked by many celebrations of the achievements and challenges of Australian history.

Some criticize this date for its very nationalistic spirit, which in their opinion would be exaggerated and would exclude from history a period before European colonization referring to Aboriginal history.
